Nearer Than Nature (The Construction Site Is)
The objects investigate our species relationship with its industrial made landscape. Where the materials originate in the building industry - with natural additives where possible - the multi-interpretable use, shapes and tactile finishes are informed by the artist’s youth spent on the rocks and crevices of the Mediterranean Pyrenees.
The current 'A Moveable Feast’ series is driven by the materiality of natural materials such as rocks, sand, clay and trees - the original human-natural environment. Objects that feel rough, but soft and intriguing, with an emphasis on an intrinsic duality of use. Just as in nature a boulder or dune top can fulfil several roles, from a place to sit to a place to step up or lean on, the objects also facilitate several uses without revealing them immediately, his interpretation and memory of rocks and landscapes are leading to arrive at a composition.

Inspired by Rietveld’s rationality of horizontal and vertical planes, the objects are infused with a distorting lense of programmatic-ergonomic parameters, and combined with tactile surfaces for a haptic experience.

A dining table designed for long nights with best friends and good conversations.
the Long Night Table is designed with so-called ‘micro-environments’ in mind. Working with a slightly meandering table line, creating multiple corners and locations while at the same table.
The slender, thin construction contrasts with the closed shapes of the rough planes that make up the table. This contrast creates an ever-changing, surprising image and experience, depending on your position.
